Hello,

I have a free Dropbox account that I have been using for years. I don't have an option at right-click to put folders in online-only mode to free up space on my laptop. Is this just for paid subscription accounts?

Thank you

(Using Mac OS 13.0.1 and a MacBook Pro)

Hey @lolaluna, thanks for using Dropbox and posting on our Community!

I'm afraid the option to have your files online only is not available to Basic accounts at the moment, only users on Dropbox Plus, Family, Professional, or Business plans.

I hope this clarifies!

Yes I have the online-only paid version - and with the new one, I can no longer SEE my online-only folders or documents on my laptop.

I've just resubscribed for another year and I am FURIOUS.

I will be looking for another cloud provider.  Dropbox sucks.

Hi @Simone E.1, could you check to see that you haven't enabled selective sync on those folders, since that would prevent them from appearing on your computer?

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Hi Jay - thanks for responding. The issue was that when I reinstalled Dropbox on this paid account, it gave me an option which I didn't realize I had: To have files both online only AND HIDDEN).  I keep a lot of files online only but I do need to see what's there from my desktop and they had been hidden in the reinstallation.  Problem now solved!
