Hi Support,
With dropbox client v163.4.5456 on Windows 11 22H2 (OS Build 22621.963), I still have the Unspecified Error, while opening a Online only .txt in the Windows 11 File Explporer. (In Windows 10 (21h2 & 22H2), the .txt automatically download, when I open the .txt file).
Can this please be fixed?
I can only open these files, after I download the files, by making them available offline.
Tnx.
Kind regards,
Richie
Hey folks,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but we have great news!
We have a build here of the desktop application that we believe should fix this issue:

Hope this helps!

Hi @RichieRich1891, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?
Also, does this happen with all files of this file type or does it happen with others as well?
Any additional information is more than welcome!

Hi Walter,
Here you can see an example:
Hey @RichieRich1891, sorry to jump in here.
Does this happen with all your online-only .txt files or just specific ones?
And if you try to make one of them available offline, move it out of the Dropbox folder and then back in, does that help?

Edit: Not relevant.
Same issue here.
Hi Hannah,
For the moment I only discovered it with the .txt files.
If I make it offline, I don't get any errors.
Also if I move the file from the dropbox folder to my desktop and back to the dropbox folder, I don not get any errors.
But is I make the file "Online only" again and try to open it, I get the error back.
But I decided to revert back to Windows 10 for a while, because Windows 11 itself has still a lot of bugs.
Hi everyone, is the file marked as online-only, available offline or available as per this article?

Hi Jay, they are marked as online only.
Hi Jay,
The file is marked as Online Only.
When I test this in Windows 10 22H2, the .txt file becomes available (White icon, with the green checkmark), when I double click the file.
This is the behavior we need in Windows 11 22H2.
