Transferring files from old computer to new computer.

I am trying to transfer my files from my old computer to my new computer using my Dropbox account.

I have successfully backed up my files from my old computer to Dropbox.  I downloaded the Dropbox desktop app to my new computer.  I see the files from my old computer in the Dropbox folder on my new computer.  I see a Dropbox folder for my new computer.  I tried copying and pasting the files from the old computer Dropbox folder to the new computer Dropbox desktop folder.  They appear in the Dropbox folder but not on my actual desktop.  How do I put files on my desktop from Dropbox that will continue to be backed up and synced on Dropbox?

Thanks in advance for any help!  I've been at this awhile!

You no longer can do that I'm afraid.

Desktop sync was part of the initial Backup rollout but stopped when it fully launched.
