My dropbox is stuck on a syncing issue on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 / Dropbox version v185.4.6054  

It shows 97 files left to sync but there is an error that says "couldn't download. unselect the locked checkbox" and just sits there.  It gives me an option to go to the folder and "fix" the issue.  In finder I select "Get Info" and it shows that the folder is not locked and they all have read and write permissions. Any ideas on what could be the issue?  I should add that I am syncing to an external 4GB SSD which has never given me any issues.

Hi Megan.  I'm happy to say that after many hours waiting for it to re-sync the problem appears to have been resolved. It seems that fixing the hard links alone was not enough but fixing the permissions was what seemed to do the trick. Thank you so much for you assistance.

Hi @Ben Wentzel, sorry to hear about your syncing issue.

 

Could you let me know the app's exact status as shown at your menu bar?

 

Also, can you click on your avatar in the app's preferences and then on the 'View sync issues' option? Are there any files listed there?

 

If you could also send me a screenshot of the error message you mentioned, that'd be amazing.

Hi Megan.  Thank you for your help.  The app says it is uploading 96 files and downloading 1. I've screenshot all of the items you've requested.

Hi @Ben Wentzel, can you try fixing the hardlinks and permissions as shown here

 

Does that change things at all?

Hi Megan.  I've clicked both and am just waiting on the second one to finish with the re-sync. I will let you know as soon as it finishes.  My dropbox is somewhere around 3TB large so it is taking a while. Thank you for your assistance.
