Entire backup of Dropbox on external disk

In 2019 I asked here if it would be possible and easy to make an entire backup of all my Dropbox content in one single click to an external disk.
We are in 2023 and it seems that Dropbox still didn’t allowed their customers to do it.
Or am I wrong?
What is complicated in that very simple demand?
Absolutely not that I want to quit or that I don’t trust Dropbox, but I just want to have a full backup on a disk.

I'm afraid the only way to do this would be by downloading your files through our website directly to your external hard drive.

You should be able to change your browser's settings to point your downloads there as needed.
