Can't view my Word and Excel Files

I was trying to make more space on my c drive and uninstalled some apps (not sure exactly which ones).  

Before doing this I was able to access all my word and excel files in my drop box on the c drive.   I cannot open them now - they are just blank icons.  

The files are still in by dropbox on the web.

Free access to Microsoft files are now via Office 365.  I have not been paying for Microsoft products.

Is there a way of seeing the Word and Excel files on my c drive dropbox?

When you used to open those files, what program would open on the computer?

Would it open the Dropbox site to edit those files?

This will help me to assist further!

Thanks Jay.  I downloaded all of the apps again and it appears to be working.
