Can't download a single file from my Mac.

Can't download a single file from my Mac.

Ive been using dropbox forever

Suddenly, I can't download a single file from my entire dropbox

I reinstalled the app and that did nothing -  says none of my files are linked to dropbox even though they are sitting inside dropbox on my mac

What else do I need to do?  Im betting the system extension is corrupt but none of the doc Ive foun talks about it

THANKS MUCH

FYI. I have no picture or anything that I would normally use to access settings on the desktop within dropbox.  So Im pretty sure its an extension issue.  The server side shows my macbook linked but I cant do anything with files in the dropbox other than open and edit-  I cant share in any way

Hey @rebel93465, let's jump right into this!

Just to make sure we're on the same page here: do you have a Dropbox folder locally inside your Finder?

If so, do you see any Dropbox icons on your desktop or menu bar? Feel free to clarify the app's current version and syncing status with me.

Keep me posted!

Thanks for the help!

I have a dropbox folder in my Finder and all my files are there (not online, on the server)

I have NO app widgets on the side or in the tray above

his is what I see in the Finder when I load a DB folder.

It says This is an Unlinked Dropbox on the left hand side above the file list . Not sure why the SS is blurry

THANKS FOR HEPIJNG. I am so limited in what I can do because of this!

Hey @rebel93465, thanks for the screenshot.

Does your computer appear as a connected device in the "devices" section of your security page here?

Wondering if I should be sure all files are on server, delete Dropbox folder and app and reinstall?   I deleted the app and reinstalled but not the DB folder in Finder..   Im a tech consultant FYI - its acting like an extension is missing?    I thought reinstalling the app would fix it but it didnt.  So wipe it clean and start over (meaning dropbox clean not whole mac)

Can you please first clarify what you mean by "server", @rebel93465?

The dropbox server  where you store files.... vs local files

Hi @rebel93465, since you mentioned that the screenshots shows that it's an unlinked Dropbox folder, are you certain that the Dropbox desktop application is signed into the correct account as on the Dropbox site?

Are you looking at the correct Dropbox folder on your device? Could you use these steps to locate it?
