Referral showing as complete but 1 gb not showing in my space.

Hi All -

I upgraded my basic free account to the plus today and also sent a referral link to a friend who signed up. I received an email that my friend signed up and that I'm getting an additional 1GB (which I thought should be higher with the plus account) and it's saying my total amount is now 2 TB which is what I already have with my plus account. Can anyone assist?

Also as a side note, why don't have access to send messages to the support team with my plus account?

Thanks,

N

Did they also install the Dropbox application on a computer (not a mobile device) and verify their email address? A referral won't be rewarded until they install on a computer. Mobile devices don't count towards referrals.

Referrals with a Basic (free) account are 500 MB each. This doubles to 1 GB for any paid plan. If you later downgrade back to Basic, your referrals are halved again back to 500MB each.

Is it EXACTLY 2 TB or does it say something like 2.01 TB? A 1 GB referral would be .01 TB. For instance, I'm on the 3 TB Essentials plan and I have 70GB of bonus space from referrals and other programs. My total quota is 3.07 TB.

You can view the status of your referrals and see a list of all space earned on your Referrals page.

You do have access to Support, via live chat (when it's open) and email ticket system. You can find your support options on the Support page.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your responses. It sounds like 1 gb is accurate then but not reflective in my account. I’ve gotten a confirmation email from Dropbox that I’m receiving 1 GB from my referral and that I now have a total of 2 TB amount of space. When I go to my Dropbox account via the app it also says I have a total of 2 TB amount of space and not 2.01.

Also when I go to the help center, the links under the Contact Us section for submit a request, chat and request callback are all grayed out and say “This support option is not available with your plan”

Any ideas for either?

Visit your Plan page. What plan does it say you're on? Also, check your Referrals page (not your email or an app) and check what it shows for your referrals and space earned.

Hi Rich,

It shows as I mentioned before that I have the plus plan and 2 TB of storage total. I figured out a support email address though and am speaking to someone from dropbox now. He advised I'm probably not seeing my credit because I am still in the trial month but assured me I have it. Anyway thanks for looking into it.
