Dropbox is eating up all my storage. I see that it's been solved on another thread-could someone help with how to free up my hard drive space?

Hey @Super22_CBUS, I hope you're doing well!

Welcome to our Community too. Have you tried using either selective sync, or making your files available offline if that feature is available to you?

If not give it a go, and let me know how it turns out.

Thanks!

Hello! I've turned all files to online only. But, my files are still syncing and that might be why I can't access the dropbox cache folder... and I'm assuming my mac system data is what is transferring all the files?

Hey @Super22_CBUS, Hanks for the speedy reply!

When did you change your content to online-only and what is the app's current syncing status

Also, when you say that your "Mac's system data is transferring all the files" would you mind clarifying that for me, please?

My syncing status has 2+ days still to completely sync. I turned them all to online only yesterday.

I don't keep many files on my mac hard drive - I keep all my files on external hard drives. So on my mac hard drive the System Data is taking up the bulk of the space, I'm almost out of mac hard drive space entirely.

And that is why I'm "assuming" the System Data is what's transferring the files...

Hey @Super22_CBUS.

To be honest, at this time, I think we'll first need to allow syncing to finish, to make sure that the files have switched to online-only as well.

If you'd like to see if you can speed it up, make sure to check how much bandwidth the Dropbox app uses, in case it's limited.
