My l client has a huge Dropbox account with lots of storage, my dropbox is full, I do not want to upgrade. When I try to download Files on my client dropbox, which they sent me an invitation to, I get a prompt that I’m out of storage? Should I not be able to download files to my clients account even though my account is full?

Assuming you mean upload, no, you shouldn't be able to. If you've been invited to a shared folder, you're not uploading to your client's account. You have your own copy of the folder in your account which syncs with your client, and you need to have enough space for everything in the folder.

If you don't need access to the files after you upload them, ask your client to send you a file request.
