I need to update my email address in my account because I no longer have access to the original email. If I update it in my account, will it send anything to the old email address? In other words, will I lose access to my account if I try to change the email address from an account I no longer have access to?

Dropbox logged me off from my account and is telling that my email or password is incorrect. I know it is correct and noone warned me that my password is expired. Mailbox that i use to log in here is partly unavailable - i can only send messages but not receive. So i can not receive a link to reset my password. I asked here and several gurus of Dropbox community were helpless. @Rich @Megan They asked me a lot of questions, i was proving my rights on my account, but still i got no advise - how can i restore access to my dropbox? There should be a procedure on that, otherwise its stupid. I am not a spy, i need just to get my files back. I need Dropbox either to change email in my profile, or send me a link for reset to an alternative email. I can prove again my ownership on my account by sending a confirmation from the corrupted mailbox. Repeating - i can only send from it, but not receive.
Need help!
