I have Mac air Sonoma 14.0. On my old computer I was able to place the Dropbox folder on my desktop. With this new laptop, I am unable to change the folder location. If I go to library and find the Dropbox folder and place it on my desktop, it says I won’t be able to connect to Dropbox until I put the folder back in its original spot. How do I put the folder on my desktop?

If you're on Dropbox for macOS on File Provider, then you can no longer move the Dropbox folder to a new location. One of Apple's requirements for the File Provider API is that the cloud storage providers store their folders within the ~/Library/CloudStorage folder.
Hey @Confused with Dropping, even if you install a previous version of the app, as long as you're connected to the internet, the app will keep updating.
There is a way to move your Dropbox folder to another location, however, that would mean that you'll no longer use the File Provider version of the Dropbox app.
