Custom Admin Role for non-members to approve Team folders.

Custom Admin Role for non-members to approve Team folders.

We operate a large tenant with many team folders shared externally with business partners. It would be great if we could create custom admin roles to allow non-IT members to approve access to our team folders. We have an internal department that handles all the communication/partnerships, and they would be the best option for validating access to the shared team folders. However, at this time, we don't have the opportunity to designate folder admins. This makes IT a barrier/unnecessary middleman to the sharing process.

Hey @Joe_Whittle, thanks for taking the time so share your thoughts on this with us.

I was just wondering if you're familiar with all of the admin types outlined in this Help Center article.

Could you have a look and let me know if any of those would help achieve what you had in mind?

Thanks so much, Joe.

Hey Walter,

Thanks for providing that documentation. I have had a chance to review it and still feel believe the ability to create a granular admin role would be ideal. While some of the listed default roles would meet the requirements, they also allow the designee to make administrative changes or take actions outside the scope of the intended function. This could be solved by either a generic custom role with the ability to apply any of the forty+ permissions or adding the ability to edit default roles (I'm sure the less preferable of the two).
