Thank you guys for your responsiveness but I was finally able to delete the Gmail account, which made the Yahoo account the default. The issue is now resolved.

Hmm, that's strange.
The Dropbox folder of the old account would still be there, if you didn't delete it, but what do you mean by 'it reverts to the gmail account'?
If you click on the Dropbox icon and then on the folder icon next to your initials/profile pic, where does that take you? To the yahoo folder?

When I click on the desktop icon, it opens the gmail account, which has nothing in it. So then I go to the dropbox icon and click "view on dropbox.com", which takes me to the Gmail account, which also has nothing in it. Then I click signout. Then I can mannually enter my yahoo Email and password, and access the web dropbox version of my dropbox account. But the desktop app doesn't work, and as soon as I close it, it will revert to the gmail account again, and I have to do that process every time. I cannot delete the app from my desktop and start over, and I can't get it to ignore that gmail account and just use my yahoo account. If I could just delete the app and start over I could fix it. But it won't let me throw it in the trash.

HI joshld12, could you clarify exactly what is happening when you try to sign out of the Gmail account in the Dropbox desktop application preferences?
Are you able to open the preferences from the menu bar Dropbox icon?
