Re: Received a "Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded" email notification

"Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded"

I got an email supposedly from dropbox. with the subject "ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAP", and then saying "Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded", followed by a dropbox.com link, with the following format https://www.dropbox.com/l/XXXX0x_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxx/h (characters are different). This seems like it could be legit, but also could be some kind of scam ? Any way I can confirm what it is without clicking the link? I tried searching for it on google and got no results back.

Hey @Kooskoos, which email address did you reply to?

If it's a 'no-reply' address/email, you won't get a response.

Can you let me know a bit more about what you need?

I got a mail with several links to links.dropbox.com, and the title "ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAP".

Is this genuine or likely malware attack ?

Hey @YvesMDaoust, thanks for letting us know about this.

Is the email address of the sender using one of our official Dropbox domains?

Yes, it does: em-s.dropbox.com

So this is genuine, right ?

Yes, indeed it is! You can just ignore it, but if you come across any other suspicious emails, do let us know.

Thanks, @YvesMDaoust!

I received a mail saying...

Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded

... a little puzzling. I have not tried to upload new files, the files already uploaded have been there for a very long time. What gives?

EDIT.

I have not received an error message, but none of the possibilities seem to be applicable.....

Can you please send us a screenshot of the email, showing the address of the sender as well?

Just make sure to hide your own email or any other personal info.

Thanks in advance!

Sure, tell me how to do that and I'll try. I can also forward the mail, but I don't know if that will destroy  anything.

Thanks for this info, @adrianxw.

The address is one of our official email addresses, so it's not a spam email, but do send us a screenshot, to see if we can figure this out.

You should see a camera icon right above the reply box, after you hit the 'reply' button on my comment, to attach your screenshot.
