I recently upgraded my plan, but inadvertently input the email address not associated with my current account. It won't allow me to link the two. How do I get credit for the upgrade with the account I already have??
Hi @timdaug, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Just for clarification, is the email address completely wrong, or is there a typo on it?
Did you upgrade via the Dropbox site or the mobile app?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi @timdaug, as you've replied under a different account name, this means that you have a second Dropbox account under another email.
Are you able to login to the other Dropbox account? If you're not sure of the email, have you tried the card lookup tool?

Are you trying to sign in, or register an account? Please make sure you're not trying to create a new account when logging into the Dropbox site.
You won't be able to merge the accounts, however, using a third email address, you can swap the emails associated with the accounts.

This is quite a confusing situation, indeed, @Timdaug .
I hope you don't mind me jumping in.
If you have two accounts, but only one of them is upgraded, you can share the files of the free account with the upgraded one, so they're accessible from there.
And if you want your upgraded account to have the email address of the free one, what you can do is what Jay suggested.
Basically, use a third, placeholder address on the free account, to free up the email it's already using.
Then you should be able to use it for your upgraded account.
I hope that makes sense!
