Hoping someone can help as Dropbox is saying this is a Chrome issue and can't resolve.
My company uses Dropbox for files. I open excel & powerpoint files from dropbox.com to google sheets & slides. Once I start typing in the google sheets or google slides file, it immediately crashes Chrome. With Google Docs, this isn't an issue with Chrome. It apparently is not an issue with anyone else in the company editing the dropbox.com files using google sheets or slides.
Noting, I don't have any issues editing google sheets or slides in Safari with dropbox files, but I would like to avoid using more than one browser at work as we use a lot of Google applications and really only use Google.
I've already done the following:
Thanks for the help in advance!
Thanks, I did the unlinking and relinking of google and that seemed to have fixed the problem.
@Nancy or @Walter can you please provide support for me on this issue as well?
I had a ticket open last winter on this topic with Walter (Ticket #15635288), but it was never resolved. My business found temporary workarounds to the crashing issue during our busy season, but now really need to find a solution as it is unworkable!
Every time I open a Google Doc or Spreadsheet created in Dropbox, and then try to edit the document, Google Chrome crashes. I've tried most (if not all) of the troubleshooting suggestions. I can't recall if I unlinked and relinked Google -- but could use support doing that.
I'm also having issues with these docs in Safari. The browser there doesn't crash, but there are other glitches.
I've tried calling Dropbox support three times in the last week, with no callback. Please help!
Thanks,
Maggie
it partially fixed it. I haven't had issues lately but it still happens sometimes. It is workable but annoying when it happens.
I was able to unlink, but I couldn't find the re-link option. It is apparently linked by default since i log in with my google account.
Hey @sustainingfarmers, sorry to hear this is still an issue for you.
To disconnect the integration from your account, navigate to your Connected Apps tab and remove it from there.
Once this is done, you can re-connect to your account through the App Center.
Let us know if this improved matters for you, Maggie.

@Walter, thanks for the support.
I disconnected Google from my Connected Apps. When I go to the App Center to reconnect, there is no option to connect. Instead, there is only a Learn More button. See the screenshot below.
Please help!
Sorry to jump in here, @sustainingfarmers!
If you go to the connected apps page in your account settings, do you see Google as an option there?

@Hannah, I appreciate you jumping in!
Google is no longer listed as a connected app. Gmail still is, but that was connected as a separate app.
Can you advise?
Hi @mir3oevs, if you try to edit a Google doc via your Dropbox account, do you get the option to connect to a Google account from there?

I think Jay meant for you to check if you can directly edit a Google doc from our website.
Is it asking you to sign in to your Google account when you do that?
