Excel for web undoing deleted changes, and restoring them back.

Excel for web undoing deleted changes, and restoring them back.

I use Dropbox to store an Excel Spreadsheet, and most of the time (90%), make periodic changes through the dropbox web interface, by using the "Open in"... "Excel for the Web" option.  When I make additions or changes to the spreadsheet, they update fine.  However, if I just want to clear the data in one cell, it allows me to delete the data and shows correctly at first.  However, after a few seconds, the deleted data shows back up - as if the web app thought I deleted it by accident, so it was "auto restoring."  The problem is, I need it deleted.  Even if I delete the data and then very quickly use the "Save and Return to" feature, when I go back in the data is restored.

I don't know if this is a dropbox issue or an "Excel for the web" issue.  Any help is appreciated.

Hey @jpgasstrom, thanks for the update!

Have you tried switching browsers, or trying an incognito mode after clearing your browser's cache just to check if the same thing happens there?

Hi @jpgasstrom, I hope you're doing well!

After reviewing your case, I have to admit that this sounds like an Excel issue, but let's have a closer look into this.

Do you happen to have noticed if this happens when you use a specific browser? Would you mind also trying a different one, just to check there?

Also, does it happen with all of your documents, or some of them?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

I was using Chrome, and it kept undoing the changes.  I tried Microsoft Edge, and that seems to work as expected.  Thank you!  I'll also try incognito mode and clearing the cache next time I go in.
