Dropbox access revoked, re-authenticate

Dropbox access revoked, re-authenticate

Hi,

I use an app on my Android tablet which allows me to import from Dropbox to upload files.

I have done this for years several times, but suddenly when I attempt to do this I get an error  "Dropbox access revoked, please re-authenticate."

What is going on? Why has it been revoked? How do I re-authenticate? What is authenticating?

What the hell is it talking about? Why do things just suddenly change, apparently overnight?

Hi @kiwirocker, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It's possible there could be an issue with the app itself.

Was there a recent update to this app you're using?

This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay,

I don't think so. The device in question is not usually connected to the net, except when I need to access Dropbox, as in this case.

It works on my phone, so I just investigated as to whether it has updated or not, but that is inconclusive.

After a little fiddling around, I managed a work around to get the file I wanted into the app, but I would rather that the Import function worked with Dropbox as it does on my phone.

Any clues? The app in question is Chordbase Lite and the tablet is a Samsung SM-T210.

Regards,

Norris

Hey @kiwirocker, how did you originally connect this app to your Dropbox?

Can you disconnect and then reconnect it, to see if that helps?

We'd also suggest reaching out to the developers/support team of this app for more info as well.

Hi Hannah,

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting but to no avail. The disconnect works, but trying to connect again doesn't.

I have also emailed the developer last night but haven't heard anything back yet.

Oh, and the connection was originally via Chordbase Lite. There is an option in their Settings menu which specifically says "Import from Dropbox", along with "Export to Dropbox"

It's the "import" process that I am getting the error message.

It may well be something wrong on the app side doing it, but I originally thought it was something to do with DB.

If I get a response from the developer, I shall let you know the reply.

Regards

KW
