'Can not upload the file' error when attaching from Dropbox to Gmail on Android

Go to solution

When I try to add an attachment from dropbox to a mail in gmail, I receive a message in gmail "can not upload the file". This error occurs only on one smartphone with android 12. If I do the same , with the same dropbox and google account, on an other android phone (android 11 )or an android tablet, there is no problem. Both phones have the same app version of gmail

Yes. I am following that protocol. It is not as simple as adding the file at the paperclip and still does not work.

After updating Gmail and wiping dropbox cache and reinstalling dropbox it did work for me.

Hey @antolepore, here are the steps to clear your cache in the Dropbox mobile app on Android:

  1. Open the Dropbox Android app.
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top left.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Clear cache.

Once you’ve cleared the cache, log out of the Dropbox app, restart your device, then log back in.
