You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
Hi,
My company uses Dropbox (free and company versions) to share files with external people of the company. We would like to know if it's possible to hide the name and the email address of the members of the folder to the other members. And if it's not possible yet, I think it would be a good idea to improve Dropbox, don't you think?

I agree, Dropbox needs to add this feature.

Well, Richard P. It might be 'the way Dropbox wants it to work', but perhaps people want to use it differently. I pay for a membership and as a customer, I would like more control of how I send files. They can disregard the seven of us who have tried to figure this out, or try to hard to assume that there are thousands of people who feel this exact way. This isn't rocket science. Dropbox should want to be as accommodating as possible. That's good customer service. If we are taking time to write this out, You (Super User) and Dropbox need to listen and be responsive about how this can happen.

Would it be possible to add a toggle to hide the members of a shared folder to all but the owner of the folder?
Our company wants to share some file in read-only mode with our customers, but, working on B2B, our customers are direct competitors of each other. For this reason, we do not want them to see each other.
To get around this, we are uploading files to their Dropbox account via the API, but this is heavier on our servers, requires a lot of extra code and forces us to do a lot of work that Dropbox would naturally do (i.e. check if a new file has been added in the "main" folder, check if it has synced with userX, sync, repeat for userX2, etc.).

I also need to have this feature

My PC comment: "the ability to hide members would be of significant benefit to the Dropbox community"
The plain language version: I can't believe this feature in't available.

This feature needs to be added. Baffling that it is not included.

be great if this feature happened. make it an option, so you can be collaborative or not. otherwise you have duplicate the folder and share with people individually which is a complete hassle and waste

I also need to hide the users who share my folder, as sending a link does not work for my needs. My users do not want their names and email addresses available to all who share the folder.

I'd like to see this feature added as my clients are also essentially competitors with each other. Making separate folders for each of them to access the same information is a waste of my paid for space!

I can't believe this option does not exist!! I want to use this for sharing - NOT collaborating. I have competing customers that I need to get information and images to and not see who each other is. This is stupid. I need to SHARE, not collaborate! Might have to close my account!
