I cannot delete a suspicious file shared with me, it is also not on my mobile app only on my desktop. When I click on "..." the only items shown are

It was in my shared files and I removed it. It is gone for now, but it is definitely malware of some sort. It is gone now and hopefully it will not come back. Thank you for your assistance.

Can you provide a screenshot showing how this file appears in your Dropbox? Be sure to mask any private information.

Hey @Gateman84, let's jump right into this! 

 

Guessing from the screenshot, it looks like you're using our website. Have you tried a different browser by any chance? 

 

Just to see if you get the same behavior there. 

 

Also, do you use the desktop app locally on the device? If so, are you able to locate and delete the file there?

It does not show up on my iphone or my desktop app. It is not showing up in  Microsoft Edge either browser.

Hey @Gateman84, is it possibly a previously deleted file? 

 

Can you try clearing your browser's cache, and then checking again to see if the file is there?
