Using AI to sort and search my photos
Hi, it's 2024 . IA is here. Please, scan all my photo and suggest something to sort them or help me find what I need.
I have a Folder "Camera Uploads" with more than 30 000 photos from my phone. It is impossible to sort them or search them or even to navigate in the folder.
Ex : I want to find the photo in a night market in china . It takes seconds within the Iphone. It is impossible on dropbox except if the photo is named "night market china" (spoiler : it isn't) .
So Dropbox is good to save the pictures but barely usable to use/search for them . Please do something

Hey there benoit_gaillat - thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this.
I just wanted to mention that you can find all the Dropbox AI features in this page and that you might also want to use the image search feature too for what you had in mind.
I hope this helps a tad and please let us know if you have anything else to add, Benoit.

Does this exist yet on Dropbox? The Microsoft Azure Facial Recognition is very powerful and we'd like something similar for our organization.

Hi there, @emilyhandsaischool, thanks for your question!
I've moved the post under a similar one, which includes some info regarding Dropbox AI.
Let me know if you have any questions.
- Kazi48New member | Level 2I upvote this. My primary use for dropbox has been camera upload which Ive been using for years with 10s of 1000s of photos. It has become impossible to go back in time and find the photos im looking for without a search feature.

Yes! The dropbox "AI features" are so rudimentary as to be laughable. It could help if you're searching your photos for something like a dog or baby (mine also picks up other random stuff, rendering it next to useless). But it's nowhere near as smart and comprehensive as Google Photos features, which let you search for a specific person, even a child who is changing a lot.

I will also add that Google Photos is SO good that it leaves Dropbox in the dust in this category. So that as much as I love Dropbox for keeping my work folder structure in the cloud and integrating seamlessly with Windows - amazing features I've counted on for maybe a decade now! - I'm probably going to have to move everything over to Google because I can't in good conscience keep paying for 2 cloud services when Google is so far outperforming you guys.

Given Dropbox’s investment in AI, there is a small chance of seeing improvements like this for photo search. That being said, photos are a consumer feature and Dropbox publicly expressed they are no longer investing in consumers, but focusing on features for business users.
