Quality lowers through link?
I've recently had some clients mention that the photos I sent through the copied link look grainy and low quality. I double checked on my end, and everything was still high resolution, and looked as it should.
I then shared access through their Dropbox account as opposed to through the link, and then they said everything looked fine.
Does sharing via the link lower the file size/image quality somehow? Is there a setting I can change?
Thank you!
When viewing files directly on the Dropbox website, you're seeing a preview of the original. For images and videos, the resolution will be lower than the original file. To see the file in its original detail, you need to download the file and open it locally. There are no settings that control this.

The issue is both on Dropbox, but also when they have downloaded the image.
- JayDropbox StaffHi Etuttle, AnnB, as Rich said, make sure that if you’re using a shared link, they specifically click the ‘Direct download’ button on the top right, like so:If they’re downloading the file any other way, then they’re not downloading it correctly.[This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity.
