Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
Hi everyone,
I'm writing to the community today because I'm experiencing a strange issue with my Dropbox account. I recently went through the Dropbox migration process, and after the migration was complete, I noticed that a significant number of my files were missing.
Specifically, I'm missing 96 out of 102 folders that I had stored in my Dropbox account. The missing folders include important work documents, personal files, and photos. I've checked the "Recently Deleted" folder and the "Deleted Files" folder, but the missing files are not there.
I'm very concerned about the loss of these files, and I'm hoping that someone in the community might have some advice. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue after migrating to the new Dropbox? If so, what did you do to resolve the problem?
I've already contacted Dropbox support, but they haven't been able to help me yet. I'm hoping that by reaching out to the community, I might be able to find someone who has experienced this issue and knows how to fix it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @denisse m, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you clarify what Dropbox migration you're referring to?
Is it related to the new Dropbox Business team update, or a Dropbox Backup update?
This will help me to assist further!

I had a Dropbox Business account for 3 years. A month ago, I decided to move all my files from this account to a Personal account. Dropbox migrated all my files from Dropbox Business to Dropbox Personal, but the main folder where all my other folders were located appears empty. For clarity, "migration" is the process Dropbox uses when it moves all the folders from one account to another.
There isn't a direct migration process as such between two accounts.
Did you downgrade your Dropbox Business team to a personal account, or did you copy your files to another account entirely?
