Shout out from Sherman Oaks, California....having some frustrations here, but will try not to overwhelm with all of my angst....In the last 2 weeks, 2 of my Dropbox saved documents have literally vanished....from the sublime to the ridiculous, a fantastic recipe for Cacio e Pepe is gone....also my Cannabis seed inventory list :).  But additionally I am regretting sync'ing my Macbook Dropbox account to my cell phone.  Strange things started happening regarding photos, and all of a sudden my Dropbox capacity was used up.  Would love to know how to resolve my angst.

Anyway, while I love Dropbox like all get out, I realize more and more how little I know about it.

Thanks for reading.

Hi @Jeff W.45, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Are you able to see your previously synced files on the events page? Are you able to recover them from the deleted files page?

What is you current quota according to this page?

This will help me to assist further!

Good morning Jay, and big thanks for responding.  Only now am I learning of "events", but regrettably am not finding either of the 2 documents that have seemingly disappeared.  The one thing that I've done in the past few months was some sort of syncing my dropbox on my computer with the dropbox on my phone.  This was done haphazardly while driving home from a lunch.  The next thing I knew, I was over my limit of storage and immediately regretted what I had done.  I removed the app from my cell phone, but I still keep getting Synch notifications.  My life seems to be about cooking, and only this morning I searched within dropbox for some fantastic sourdough pancakes, and the recipe???  Gone!  Starting to freak out here, but will resurrect that recipe.  I'm a super organized guy when it comes to creating a Pages document, and putting it into a dedicated folder.  Strangest experience ever, to see within a folder that a file is no longer there.  Ugh.

Hey @Jeff W.45, sorry to jump in here!

Have you used the search bar in your "all files" page, to search for your missing files and see what kind of results you get?

Hi Hannah,

Thank you for responding, and happy that you "jumped in"....I've just tried your suggestion, and could not find the file.  This is all getting me so down.  I am not certain if when I responded to Jay, that I mentioned even this morning, there was a file that was DEFINITELY in Dropbox that could not be located.

Sorry for sounding like a gloomy Gus.  Again, thank you for your input.

Hi @Jeff W.45, you mentioned that you used the mobile and desktop app to edit this file, right?

When was the last time you saw this file online, and if you go through your Events page again, are you able to see any sign that the file was added/edited there?

Thanks Jay so much, for your second attempt at fixing this.  I was so frustrated that for now I've just had to let it go.  I realize that I am such a dolt when it comes to understanding Dropbox fully.  So many areas of this program that just haven't Sync'ed (sunk) into my brain 🙂
