A disgruntled employee is the owner of a shared folder.  Is there a way to change the owner of the  shared folder without needing to ask that employee to make me the new owner.

I am the admin and the employee is not.

I'm not yet ready to delete this account either.

You should be able to do this @brentonlang - since you're the admin of the account as you said, you can always use the "sign-in as user" feature to log into this person's account (find the folder in question) and transfer the ownership of the folder to whom you wish.

I hope this helps and please let me know how this goes. Thanks!

Hi there,

As an admin I need to change the ownership of the folder from someone who’s account is showing as Deleted in my admin console and also that folder is not shared with me. It’s a request from one of the user in the organisation. What are my options with this?

Hi there @JimmyPatel; happy Monday and thanks for using Dropbox.

I'm sorry for the late reply; are you still having issues with this?

In case you do and didn't choose to transfer the deleted account's data to another account that's a member of your team upon deleting the account in question, I'd suggest going to your members tab through your Admin Console and from the right hand pane, choose the 'Deleted' option under the 'Member type' header.

Once you find the deleted account in question there, click on the gear icon to the right and select the 'Manage Files' option to transfer them to another member of the team.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions, Jimmy.
