deleted file - help please

Can I restore files that were deleted more than 30 days ago?

Quite a few years ago I visited South America and had the most amazing time of my life. I discovered my love for photography there and I had thousands of cherished photos on dropbox.
Finances haven't been great over the last couple of years, and I couldn't justify or afford to keep my dropbox account, so I tried to download and move everything to my hard drive. The basic account couldn't store all my original files so I had to delete them, but now I have just found out that I didn't transfer my South America Photos. :'(
This is over 30 days ago, so I can't recover them myself from the deleted tab.


All those important sites, places and people I will never visit or see again, gone.

Is there any chance, that Dropbox could still recover that one file somehow? I would pay to get them back if I need to.

Sorry to hear about your photos, @ScottPhoto.

 

I'm afraid that even if you upgraded your account, you wouldn't be able to restore the photos, if they were deleted more than 30 days ago.

 

How long ago were they deleted?

Well over 30 days ago, unfortunately.
I only realized because I wanted to take another look over them. 😞

I have Dropbox Plus account and have deleted an excel file about 6 weeks ago - and it looks like the longest back up search i can do is one month. is there a way of retrieving this file???

I'm afraid that if the file was deleted more than 30 days ago, it cannot be recovered.

We can actually only email you to the address associated with your Community profile, which can be found here.

 

I can see that it's a different one; is the file missing from the account you're reaching out from or a different one, under the address you gave me above?
