So, I uninstalled Dropbox. Now I find that my folders; Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and God knows what else are all set to my Dropbox folder. When I go to 'restore' these folders to their correct, default Windows 10 path, I get the above error message. This is outrageous. What is the solution?

I am having the same issue.. I have deleted Dropbox and now my folders (desktop, documents, downloads etc..) are all set to my drop box folder. The folder path has changed, please see the new location below;

When I try to restore the location it says "cant redirect into reparse point..." I would really appreciate some help on this.

thank you for your time

Hi @dreaminguser1234, I hope you're doing well!

Try these steps to move the folder to the default location and let me know how it goes.

Hey @kiblets, thanks for the nudge here.

Is your Dropbox application still installed on your computer and did you correctly disable computer backup, before trying to move the files back?

Hi Hannah,

Thanks for reaching out.  I had uninstalled the desktop application.  During setup after re-installing, I selected "Desktop" folder, but then immediately encountered the following message:

"Move Desktop folder back to its default location, then try again."

Tried to reset to default location via the Properties dialog and got this message:

"Can't redirect into reparse point, please choose different target path."

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am wondering at this point whether I can pay for the ability to REWIND and have everything restored to how it was before I got into this tangled mess?  Most importantly, I want to extricate Dropbox from my local computer.

Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for the update, @kiblets!

Rewind wouldn't undo what happened with the backup feature, but can I reach out to you via email, so we can look into this a bit more closely?
