Hello, I have just received from my wife the invitation to share files with her. Ok but after I accept, I see only tariff plans and I do not want to buy space, I simply want to share files already in dropbox. Am I doing someting wrong? thaks a lot. Pierpaolo

Hey @pierpaolo bacch, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!

It sounds like you accepted an invitation to a shared folder that would put you over your account's quota.

If you'd like to share a folder without impacting your own quota, you can ask your wife to send you a shared link instead.

If, on the other hand, need to upload to her account without using your own quota, you can ask her to open a file request for you.

I hope this helps!

Shared links only allow view and download. You can't upload to a shared link.

If you need to upload files to her and you don't have enough space in your account to hold the shared folder, you'll either need to upgrade your account or ask your wife to send you a File Request so you can upload directly to her account. Another option would be for you and your wife to convert to a Family plan, so you can share space and have access to a common Family Room folder.

Hi Rich, thats the point: she subscribed for a Family Plan ... this is why she sent the invitation to me to join a unique access for all of us ...

Hi from me too, @pierpaolo bacch!

Has she followed these steps to make sure you can join her Family plan?
