Unable to copy Time Machine folder "backup.backupdb" to Dropbox

Unable to copy Time Machine folder "backup.backupdb" to Dropbox

I simply want another copy--somewhat archival--of a Time Machine backup. I'm not trying to use Time Machine with Dropbox; I only want to copy the resulting folder and enclosed folders and files. I get the error message "The volume is the wrong format for a backup." when I do a drag and drop.

I've also tried uploading using the browser interface. Eventually I get a message asking me if I want to upload all 1M+ files. I click OK, but nothing seems to happen after that.

The removable hard drive is a single volume formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

thanks

Joe

Hey @jlhealey - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please send us a couple of screenshots of the process and the errors you get so that we can have a look too?

Also, how large is the file you're trying to upload and approximately how many files it contains?

Any additional information is more than welcome!
