Sharing a large folder to someone with free account

I have the personal 2TB subscription plan, and I tried  to share a folder with size of 6GB to someone with a free 2GB plan. It seems that they are unable to view or edit the contents of the folder, a...

    Hi there juhomi, thanks for joining our Community and happy Monday!
     

    It's true that shared folders take up space on each Dropbox account that's a member of the share.

     

    If you'd like to share a folder with them without it taking up space in their account, you can share a link to the folder with view only rights instead. 

     

    If, on the other hand, they're going to need to upload files to your own account without affecting their own, you can open up a file request for them.
