Re: Shared Dropbox

Shared Dropbox

I want to use a Dropbox to gather photos from the participants who attended an event.

I set up the Dropbox account, and created a Dropbox to allow anyone who has the link to be able to edit the Dropbox.

I copied the link.

I logged out of my account.

I opened a browser and pasted the link in the address window.

The link took me to the Dropbox.

However, it required a sign-in that required an email address.

Is there a way a way to allow the person to upload photos without requiring the person to enter an email address?

Thank you for your reply.

I don't want the participates to be subjected to emails from Dropbox.

Is there a way the participants can upload photos without needed to set up an account?

I suspect there is not a way to do that.

Did you look at the Requests option I gave you? That does exactly what you are looking for

Hi @robvasi

Not via a shared link there isn't, no - because shared links and folders require an account.

However, have you looked at Requests

https://www.dropbox.com/requests

I misunderstood.  At first, I thought I would have to email the participants.

I tested this indeed it works like I wanted.

Thank you for your follow-up, and for showing me the solution to my problem.

I set up the request and the folder shows that I am the only one who has access to the folder.

I paid for this dropbox and I can't get it to work.

I don't want to waste anymore time on this.

How do I cancel the dropbox payment so I am not charged any more.

Hi @robvasi, you can contact the support team directly regarding your payment for them to look into this further.

Hey @robvasi - sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify where you upgraded your account in the first place? Was it through the website directly or maybe via the app store on a mobile device?
