I have just noticed that when I share a folder with a view only link if somebody accesses that link via a browser it displays my full name to the person with the link. I'm not happy with this and consider it a privacy issue. Is there a way to change it?

It could happen with individual files and in apps too, I haven't tested these.

Hi there @steve78957, thanks for reaching out to us here!

Just to make sure we're on the same page here, do you use these steps in order to create the shared link?

Also, I'm assuming this happens only when they view the content using a browser on their mobile app, is that correct? If you have some screenshots, feel free to send them over just make sure to truncate your full name for security reasons.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Yes, sharing the link correctly. My full name is displayed when using a browser I am not logged into Dropbox on. ie this is what any other person would see.

I have attached a screenshot.

Thanks for the screenshot! At the moment, it’s not possible to hide the name of the Dropbox account indeed. However, I’ve passed your comments to our team to be taken as feedback.

You can also post an idea here about this (please check out our guidelines, too).

A workaround I can suggest in the meantime is to change the name of your Dropbox account to something else. This way, no one will be able to see your real name, even when sharing links publicly.
