MacOS Beta: Stuck on Indexing after switch
Since the beta install completed on my machine 8 days Dropbox has been stuck on indexing. I have restarted Dropbox twice. I have also restarted the machine twice. Thoughts? I do not see any errors. I have a selective sync on my work machine which only has 1 folder which is not a lot of data. Thanks

Thanks for posting on our forum, rileybeebs!
When saying that your Dropbox app is stuck indexing on your device, does it show a specific number of files indexing or are there no details showing?
If you click on the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar and then, select "Sync history”, are you seeing something more?
Keep me updated.

Thanks. No number is showing. And the sync history only has 8 items that were just after the beta install.

Chris_Hope, can you also try an advanced reinstall on your device, and let me know if it makes any difference?
rileybeebs, what’s the exact OS version of your computer?

I also have this stuck on indexing problem, I currently can't make any of my files offline or edit from the new location..
I have to download them from dropbox.com .. I have 2.5 TB of files stuck in limbo. I
've checked the sync history as you suggested above and it's showing the last few files that I edited before I updated dropbox to the new location no clues that it has indexed anything.
Here's an extra bit of info if its relevant - Yesterday I added a drive to backup on a different machine, which didn't finish backing up before I closed the session - maybe this is something to do with it ? Also, I have not yet setup the other machine to move the location in Beta as I have this one- Megan

Hi Chris_Hope, welcome to our Community!
Now, let's jump straight into this, and check a few things. Can you check the app's precise syncing status, along with the version you're using, and let me know more? You can find the version by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon, on your menu bar, next to your WiFi.
Also, how long is the app stuck in this syncing limbo?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan ,
Thanks !
The syncing status says indexing and the progress bar shows that it's only just started.. it's been stuck on 286,533 files for 12+ hours
The version i'm on is 172.3.7467 which is the up-to-date version as far as I can tell..
It's been stuck like this for 12-14 hours and connected to working internet for that time..the sync history and activity has'nt changed and is showing filed i edited 16 hours ago before I initiated the move.I'm on MacOS 12.6.4
Thanks
Chris
