Re: Can't share file error out of nowhere, sharing activity interrupted

I get the message that my files might contain phishing content

Xanthocletes

I am trying to share a file and get the message "We’ve interrupted your sharing activity because your files might contain phishing content"

Relevant Facts:

1) File does not contain phishing content.

2) I haven't used dropbox for about a year, so I'm not over any limits.

3) File is legal content, legally obtained.

4) File is 22 MB.

No customer support except for paid subscriptions.

So I guess this is why I don't use dropbox.....

Hey @Megan, haven't received anything so far in my Gmail except the email notifications from this thread.

Hi @Megan,

I'm getting the same behavior "We’ve interrupted your sharing activity because your files might contain phishing/spam content”.  The only suggestion on the banned-links page you referenced (https://help.dropbox.com/share/banned-links) says "If you’re seeing this message, contact Dropbox support."  Unfortunately, that page doesn't give any options for Basic users.

I too have received no email from Dropbox suggesting which files might be triggering this alert.  If I had some idea of where to look, I'd be happy to investigate further.

Hey @RossComer - would it be OK if I reached out via email to have a further look internally?

As for you @GSBox - did you check your spam/junk folder as well in case Megan's email ended up there somehow?

Sure did, @Walter and there's no email in the spam/junk folder either.

@Walter That'd be great.  Megan also reached out at support+id23404576@.

Since Megan has already sent you an email, I'd suggest waiting for her to get back to you so you can continue through your existing ticket @RossComer

Let us know if you have anything else to add or ask in the meantime.

As of a week or two ago, I cannot access Dropbox Paper files to edit them when logged in, they all 404. I've tried in both Chrome and Safari. When logged out, I am able to View Dropbox Paper files that allow View by link, but after logging in they 404 when I try to access them.

Hi there @shiibainu - thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Out of curiosity, are you able to share files and Paper docs normally or are you also getting an error?

I'm only asking because if your sharing activity has been banned, it would also affect your access to Dropbox Paper.

Let me know more and we'll take it from there.
