How do I create permanent direct image links to use in amazon bulk/flat files?

How do I create permanent direct image links to use in amazon bulk/flat files?

I've tried changing the /dl=0 to /raw=1 and putting that link into my screen, which gives me a long string of jibberish

something like

https: //uc383f12462e37c8cf1cad5ad226.dl.dropboxusercontent.com/cd/0/inline/CMag_PXvjNh1JD_t8SsqbRGf9aEAf1uqcDlpRHSXKHTNV0YIX0yHA0PVeFu9NaHPCxeJkugcXLtMwSBaT_tbeJkBI2IUliyB7syFx4Z-7UeIBzw1jNatdTLqFXAqIZsCudEU-LX_2sZo7nuqGiNTxwEc/file

it works for half an hour'ish. Then just gives me error 410

I would rather not have to buy and host all our images on another service. Is there a way we can do this without it breaking? It needs to be a direct link as we want to use these in amazon flat files and Amazon's systems only accept hot links.

Hey @KlarAndCo! Thanks for your post.

Can you send me a screenshot of the shared link you’re creating with /raw=1, so that I can check it, too?

Also, have you tried this link via different browsers/incognito window (while you’re not signed into your Dropbox account), and it still gives the same error?

Let me know.

Hey Nancy. Here is a screenshot of an example

Yes, any browser, not logged in. Gives the same 410 error after 20-30 minutes.

Are you trying to use that link (changed to raw=1) in Amazon, or are you opening that link yourself, copying the resulting link from the redirect (the long link from your original post) and using that in Amazon?

That long link generated from the redirect is likely not a permanent link. You need to use the shorter link modified with raw=1. If Amazon is unable to access the image due to the redirect, then you'll need to look for another service to host your images.

I hit enter, it gives me a much longer URL. An example is in the original post. That link becomes inactive and gives me the 410 error after 20-30 minutes. Without fail. I generated dozens of these and now my entire bulk sheet is completely littered with useless links.

Which link are you entering into Amazon; the short one or the long one?

You likely can't enter the long link as it's not a permanent link. The only method Dropbox supports is the short link, which includes the rlkey parameter and results in a redirect. If Amazon can't accept the short link or won't follow the redirect, you likely can't use Dropbox to host the images for Amazon.
