I'm using an imac running OS10.12.6  High Sierra and I'm cannot upgrade the OS.  Dropbox app will no longer sync.  How can I get my imac to sync?

Hey @vjt418, thanks for joining the discussion here.

I just wanted to mention that since you cannot update your computer's operating system, all your files will still be available through other compatible computers with supported operating systems, through supported mobile devices, and on the Dropbox website.

However, since June 27th, 2023, devices running macOS 10.12 or older are no longer able to log in and access content through the Dropbox desktop app.

I hope this clears things up!

Hey @mjacobs, sorry to hear about this.

I just want to mention that to run the Dropbox desktop app on your Mac you need:

For more information on the requirements to run the desktop app on a Mac, you can have a look here.

I am running MacOS 12.6.8. Monterey and it is as up to date as it can be.  I tried removing the old Dropbox and then did the advanced reinstall.  No joy.

Hi @mjacobs, I'm afraid that since the device doesn't meet the necessary requirements to run the desktop app, we won't be able to help much with this.

That said, you can have a look here for more information on what you can do in such cases, if you like.

I am on a 2011 imac and I cannot update the system software on this model.  I do not intend on getting a new imac at this time.  Why doesn't dropbox allow using your older version software to access the files from older computers?

Need more support?
