Constant notifications of sync events for data files e.g. ".pluginData," ".eventData" - Logic Pro?

I don't know what category to put this in (I feel like there should be a "sync" category), but I'm getting constant notifications that files have been updated, even when I'm not doing anything. It seems there are some data files being synced behind the scenes, maybe from the operating system, on a constant basis. So every 10 or 20 seconds, I'll get a notification saying "You changed 14 files" or "You added  2024-02-29 01:14:26Z.songData."

When I click to view the changes I see a list of hundreds of files for a single sync event.

Most of these files are named liked this:

2024-02-29 01:10:46Z.pluginData

2024-02-29 01:10:46Z.eventData

2024-02-29 01:10:46Z.songData

2024-02-29 01:10:46Z.displayData

Given the names referring to "plugin" and "song" I suspect this is something to do with the music/audio application Logic Pro. I've been saving all my songs in Dropbox so I can open them on two different computers.

Should I not be doing this? Am I doing something wrong? Or is this expected behavior? Do I just ignore it and live with it, or can I change a setting to make this stop?

Aside from just being distracting and annoying, it seems like this is extremely unnecessary and wasteful bandwidth/network and file transfer activity, it just seems like something is not working as it should.

Thanks in advance if anyone has experienced this and can provide some insight or guidance. Otherwise I'll email Dropbox Support.

p.s.: the computer where the notifications are happening is an older iMac running macOS Catalina 10.15.7. Notifications happen on this machine when Logic Pro is running on the other one.

Can you let me know more about how you've integrated Logic Pro with Dropbox to sync your music?

Because it sounds like it's sending these system type of files to Dropbox and Dropbox is syncing them, but that's not something the Dropbox app can control.

Hi Hannah. Thanks so much for the quick reply.

All I'm doing is saving the songs in Dropbox.

In case it's relevant, Logic lets you choose to save everything as a "Package" (everything is contained in a single .logicx file), or as a Folder. I have been using Folder, with these options checked:

Also, I believe Logic does auto-save every 30 seconds. But most apps do something similar, and that doesn't seem to explain what I'm seeing, especially as it happens while I'm not making any edits.

Based on everything that you previously described, it does sound like expected behavior.  

If you keep Logic Pro open on a different device, then the changes sync from that device, to the web, and from there to the iMac.

However, and just to make sure, would you mind sending me a screenshot of the notifications you mentioned, in order for me to have a visual? 

Keep in mind that you can always adjust your app's notifications.
