Confidenital link transfer - from an employee to our company

Confidenital link transfer - from an employee to our company

We use DocuSign for employee contracts so that is going well.  We now have new hires that we are submitting their W4's, Direct Deposit forms for payroll with their banking information - both have sensitve content inc social security number.

I know to how to create a folder and send a link to people who do not have DropBox to upload photos, etc.

However, does DropBox have a way to make their sharing with my company, confidential so when they upload the word or PDF documents, to the link/folder, to ensure it is encrypted or not able to be hacked.

Thank you very much!

Hi @Deborah P.4, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Are you referring to file requests, where files the users upload come directly to your account?

Currently, there is no end-to-end encryption with Dropbox when users sync or upload files. If you require this service, you can consider using another app or service to encrypt files prior to their upload to your account.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

Hi @Deborah P.4

I wanted to provide you with an update from our product team on this topic as well: We are excited to inform you that we are actively developing native end-to-end encryption for Dropbox.

In the upcoming version, we will introduce end-to-end encryption specifically for selected team folders. This means that any data stored within these folders will be securely encrypted, ensuring that only your team members have access to it.

We understand the significance of data privacy, and this feature reflects our commitment to enhancing security for our valued business customers. We are targeting a release date for this feature in Q1 2024.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to bringing this enhanced security feature to your Dropbox experience.

Andrea
