Windows 11 built-in backup and restore feature.

Windows 11 built-in backup and restore feature.

It is about Windows 11 built-in backup and restore feature.
I need to check if Dropbox is safe with this feature.

Suppose I backed up every Windows setting with this image backup feature built inside Windows 11.
My Dropbox storage is located in E driver (not C driver).
Suppose my Windows gets a problem in the future.
Suppose I restore Windows using backed up image.
In this case, my Dropbox application in Windows will go back to the backed-up stage.
In this case, will my Dropbox files in E driver safe?

Do I have to delete all dropbox files in E driver before Windows restoration?
Or will Dropbox application in C driver safely recognize my Dropbox files in E driver?

Hi @acubens555, thanks for messaging the Community.

Generally, we don't recommend using any third party backup apps or services to restore the Dropbox app and folder, as this could result in permission errors, syncing issues and data loss.

In your scenario, we couldn't guarantee how the Dropbox desktop application would react after being recovered like that, or if it would be able to detect the files on the E drive.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
