Hi!

I'm trying to download Dropbox on my desktop, but I get the following error: "Dropbox Update Installation failed with error 0x80096005".

I tried to download the full installation instead, but I get the same error.

I have Windows 10 Home (Version 20H2) and McAfee LiveSafe security.

The solution was to uninstall McAfee LiveSafe meanwhile I downloaded Dropbox!

Hey @allanelder, welcome to the Dropbox Community! 

The error you mentioned appears to be caused by your Windows device's Registry settings and not by Dropbox.

All errors similar to the format of the one you received are associated with Windows, so I would recommend reaching out to Microsoft's support page for specific instructions on how to resolve the issue.
