Hello everyone,
I am a client manager at a large media company. We have rolled out Dropbox version 188.4.6302 to all our clients via a software distribution system. However, after starting Dropbox, the Dropbox Updater always appears and wants admin authorization. Now I have the question of how I can deactivate the automatic updates or how I can suppress the pop-up message as this causes confusion for our users. We would like to roll out updates from Dropbbox in a controlled and global manner.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi @Test123235346637484, welcome to our Community!

Let me start by saying that what you're asking isn't really supported.

The app is created that way, that it needs to run with admin privileges. The Dropbox desktop app requires admin privileges to run with full functionality on your computer.

You can see more about this here

Same goes for the automatic updates. The desktop app, needs to be up-to-date and using its latest version, in order to avoid any possible issues.

Keep in mind that the version you mentioned, is already behind, compared to the 195.4.4995 which is our latest stable version.

I hope this clarifies!
