Apps and Installations
Have a question about a Dropbox app or installation? Reach out to the Dropbox Community and get solutions, help, and advice from members.
I use windows 11 which is fully up to date, but every time I close down my pc Dropbox disappears.
I have to download it every time I open my pc and want to use it.
Any ideas what’s happening?
Thanks
Hey @Rich0710, welcome to our Community!
Can you please let us know if the app does indeed get uninstalled when you shut down your laptop or if it's the app's icon missing from your task bar? If you search for the app after rebooting your computer, does it show up at all?
Also, do you have any security programs that might be causing issues by the way?
Let us know more and we'll take it from there.

It uninstalls every time and I have to do a full install when needed.
I have Kapersky installed and windows defender but I don’t know if they are a problem or not.
I don’t think so as this problem is only a fairly recent issue
Hey @Rich0710, thanks for the speedy reply!
In that case, could you try disabling it temporarily and let us know if the issue persists?
Have you reinstalled the Dropbox app, since this started happening?
Finally, if the Dropbox icon is visible at the moment, I’d like you to hover over it and send me the app version you see.
