Dropbox PC app always close and disappear on system tray

Lastest version on Windows10!
My dropbox app always close themselve and can't open app; but task manager still show "Dropbox Service" and icon on system tray doesn't show.
I uninstall and re install million times. It's not work. Somebody please help me

Hey @arsd, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please let us know if you're running any antivirus, firewall or even a VPN/proxy on your computer?

If you do, you can try temporarily disabling them and perform a clean, advanced reinstall as outlined here.

You can also try updating your computer's OS, if there are any pending updates that is.

Thank you mister Walter White; but it's also same problem.

1. I'd disable Avast free antivirus
2. Uninstall Dropbox in advance method
3. Update windows to lastest version
4. Install dropbox pc again

for 5 minute dropbox on icon tray disappear 😅

Can you let me know how many files your desktop app is syncing, in general? Is it possible they're more than 300k?

approximately 260 files on my dropbox, Nancy

• When i run dropbox
• task mananer will show only dropbox service process
• Dropbox app doesn't showup
• Chatgpt can't help me and lead me here 🤣💞

Could you try creating a new OS profile on your computer and try to install the desktop app there?

Thanks Nancy. I did follow method like you told, but It's crash disapear again

• I did switch to new windows account
• and uninstall All antivirus and windows defender

I don't know why! i'm login dropbox via google signin botton; Isn't it a real ploblem 😘

questa mattina ho acceso il PC e incredibilmente l'icona di Dropbox era al suo posto, ha fatto la sincronizzazione dei file e ora che sono passate diverse ore l'icona è ancora li.

Sembra quindi che il problema sia sparito, non so se per un intervento del team Dropbox, se a seguito di qualche aggiornamento Microsoft o per motivi misteriosi, ma per ora funziona

this morning I turned on the PC and incredibly the Dropbox icon was in place, it did the file synchronization and now that several hours have passed the icon is still there.

So it seems that the problem has disappeared, I don't know if due to an intervention by the Dropbox team, if following some Microsoft update or for mysterious reasons, but for now it works

Now I switched to use mega.nz ; It's very work well than dropbox
