In my Windows system tray (next to the clock), Dropbox used to show that it was fully synced by showing a green check-mark over the Dropbox icon. This was really helpfull.
If Dropbox was offline, it would show no overlay icon.
Recently (and according to Dropbox itsself) this has changed, the Dropbox icon now shows no overlay if it is fully synced, but to me, i constantly think my Dropbox is offline, instead of 'fully synced'.
So the idea is: please bring back the green 'fully synced' checkmark. Or -at least- make it an option to show it.
Please upvote this idea if you agree

Rich's comment is stupid and patronizing. No-one is saying that not having the green checkmark is difficult.
The point is that the Green Checkmark was a clear indication of the sync status and now we are missing it. Not having the green checkmark is particularly difficult when you are travelling and/or when you are connecting from places like China (via a VPN).
You get that Rich? Easy enough for you to understand?

Dropbox!!!
Please bring back the Green Checkmark!
@ Rich, (and DropBox)
Appriciate that you were trying to clarify the current operation of the new styled system tray icon however I'm sure that most of us realised that already.
My gripe with the Dropbox team, and this is true of many other developers, is that changes to the function or display are often made a) without any notification and b) without an option to allow users to select a legacy experience. This causes issues if internal documentation or userguides are producced. The new advanced display isn't as obvious as the different shape/colour icons used previously and a slight greying of the same shape isn't clear especially if on the move in bright light.
I realise that the "improvement" is documented in your link above however I don't recall ever seeing a proactive notification about the change. I'm reminded of Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy when the Earth was about to be destroyed by the Vogons to make way for a new hyperspace bypass "All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display at your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for 50 of your Earth years, so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and it’s far too late to start making a fuss about it now."
Please DropBox - Bring back the GREEN TICK as an OPTION. Thank you
Please Change the awfull Blue background Colour of the Dropbox application Icon.
I do not know who approved this change but this is the worsts icon by long way... Blue colours do not go together it looks like outdated application that you really do not want to deal with ...
Please bring the old colours back!!
Thanks
Why would you make a change like this without informing your users!! My co-workers all thought we had been disconnected from Dropbox because for all the years we have been using the program, a plain white icon meant offline!!
Can you PLEASE add the green checkmark back? Why change things for the worse, I don't understand.
Bring the green thing back ffs !! I dont care about matching other clients or whatever. I like the app just way it use to be and what i paid for.
The green thingy gives everybody a quick way to check everything is OK"! Dont change such an importent thing.
Edit: Or at least give the option to turn it off or on.. You know a user setting that would make everybody happy.
As default it could be off, i dont mind.. as long as it come back one way or the other
BRING BACK THE CHECKMARK (or TICK MARK)!!!!!!
This always looks DISCONNECTED!
