Sorry for jumping in, Elaine4.
In general, when you share a folder with someone else on Dropbox, this will save their account name in your contacts (for future use).
The only way that this name can be changed is if the person themselves update it via their own account settings, like Hannah mentioned above.

If you're referring to changing the name of the account of this user, I'm afraid you can't edit it yourself.
The person that currently owns the account, will need to go to their Dropbox settings where they will see an option to edit their name.

No, the contact is someone I share a folder in my Dropbox, not my Dropbox.
