- 7 years agoHi there, we’re assuming you’re referring to the iOS Mail app, not the Mac OSX app.Have you installed the Dropbox mobile app, and does the Dropbox folder appear on the Files app on your iPad?If not, could you confirm what version of iOS you’re running on the iPad, and what version of the Dropbox app is installed? Thanks in advance!

I'm having this issue as well. I have been regularly adding documents from my Dropbox to emails in the iOS Mail app, and suddenly am unable to. The difference for me is that I am able to see choose Dropbox, and the folder and file, but the file will not download to add to the mail; it just stays in waiting to download. I have updated the Dropbox app and the latest iOS. I am currently using iOS 12.2.
Anyone have a fix for this?

Hi EMay, iOS 12.2 is a beta version of the software, which isn’t currently supported until it becomes a stable version, so any issues with the Dropbox mobile app can’t be troubleshooted.
Were you experiencing this on the stable version of iOS 12.1.4?

Hi, Jay - I’m having the same problem described above by EMay. I’m running iOS 12.1.4. The only files that will download are ones that have the download symbol in the upper right corner. But those are often older versions of the docs I’m trying to attach into the emails. Appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks!

I've noticed the same thing, where the files that will attach have the download symbol. But, this is also inconsistent. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't.
- Jay6 years agoDropbox StaffIf the Files app isn’t updating with the latest version of the file as it appears in the Dropbox mobile app, then this would be related to the Files app itself. There isn’t much we can troubleshoot here since the integration is handled through that app.You can try deleting the Dropbox mobile app, rebooting the device, and reinstalling the app to see if this helps however.

Hi Jay,
The issue began when I was using a stable version, so I upgraded my iOS and Dropbox. The problem continued. Occasionally it will work, but mostly won't.

I am now having the same problem as above but this is update to 13.1.3.
I am always signed in, I have always been able to attached files but now it just "waits" and waits and does not attach the file.
Can you please email me with a solution?

Thank you in advance

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with this Kw7790.
Could you forward me a screenshot of how this looks like on your end so I can have a visual?
In addition, have you rebooted your device lately?
If possible, can you please open the Files app on your device and press ‘edit’? Under locations you should see all available locations along with Dropbox. Please switch this off and on again and press 'done'.
After this is done then, please try again.
Let me know the results please.

Hello! I would love your help. I am running iOS 13.1.3 on an iPad Pro 12.9 inch and having the following problems:
- when using the iOS mail app, trying to attach files, dropbox is not listed in the files app. I have reinstalled dropbox, and unticked / re-ticked dropbox in the files app.
- when using the outlook mail app, trying to attach files, dropbox is listed, but when I choose a file to attach, it just thinks about it interminably and the app needs to be restarted, at which point the attachment has been lost from the draft email.
I will have to discontinue using Dropbox if this cannot be resolved as I am currently unable to use it to attach files to emails on either iOS or outlook mail apps.
Thanks,
HD
