Hey RiaT, would you mind checking the connected devices section in the security page in your account settings, to double-check if you have less than 3 devices linked to your account already?

After filling in my email address and password I get as far as filling in the security code and then the “you need an internet connection to upgrade your account” pops up.

Thanks for the additional info, RiaT.
Have you tried uninstalling the app, restarting the device and then reinstalling it, to see if it helps?

Yes, I have tried several times uninstalling the app, restarting the device and then reinstalling it.
Installing it from google play and also from the Dropbox website on my computer.
I don't understand why it lets me fill in the security code and then crashes.
