Cannot establish a secure connection after dropbox update to 111.4.472
After the dropbox app (Window 10) updates itself to the latest 111.4.472 version, I'm getting this 'Cannot establish a secure connection'.
I've checked my time on my laptop, router. It's fine. I've...

I've just received some news that I'd like to share with you all here!
It appears that ESET has fixed the problem that was causing this error.
For anyone running ESET on their device, please update to the most recent version of ESET to update to the software.
Once you've done this, you should be fine to revert back to the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app. You can install this from here.
Otherwise, you can just allow the app to auto-update to the latest stable when a new version is released.
Let me know how it goes!

Same here.
Tried different computer, ethernet, wifi, mobile internet, with or without virus/firewall.
It's probably most certainly Dropbox causing this. Hope they can fix it soon.

Hi all; thanks for your reports on this one!
For everyone that's affected by this, could you let us know if you're also having issues with the latest beta version found here?
- Robertdam4 years agoHelpful | Level 5
I still have the same problem with the new Beta update of Dropbox.
It looks like Dropbox is being blocked by ESET SSL Scanning. I have disabled SSL temporarily because I need my Dropbox files.
But this is not a secured situation so I hope there will be a solution soon.

Hey there olaab, I've just moved your post here since this is a more recent thread.
Please try the beta version of the app from here, and let us know if you're still having this issue with that version.
Robertdam, as you're using ESET too, I've just reached out to the email linked with your profile here, so that we can look into this in more detail through out Support channel.
When you have a moment, please check your inbox for my message and get back to me there - thanks!

Daphne,
ESET just answered my query with instructions:
But then I asked how to update DB to most recent version and the answer was:
effettui la procedura indicata, senza aggiornare la versione di Dropbox, e verifichi che tutto funziona
per l'aggiornamento della versione di Dropbox installata può scaricare da questo link il file di installazione: https://www.dropbox.com/it/install
altrimenti contattare il supporto tecnico di DropboxIt seems to me others have done this with no success. Am I right? I hesitate to try.
Thanks

Edit: Walter's instructions for Eset solved my problem as well. Thanks for the help!

Thank you, Walter. This most definitely worked for me! I'm up and running again :champagne:
Question: does it keep using beta's from now on, or will it upgrade to the 'normal' version with the next update? - justforfunband4 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Beta version will not run on windows 8.1 !!!
